Early Warning System for Mudflow and Flood Presented at Ala-Archa National Park

A representative of the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences presented the technical solutions designed for monitoring water level and flow velocity, recording seismic noise, and timely detection of potential threats.

To date, the monitoring station in the Ala-Archa river basin has been installed and is transmitting data. On September 24, a station was installed in the Adygene river basin. The site for the station in the Aksai basin is still being determined.

The system provides for the transmission of data to the central server of the Crisis Management Center under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, automatic and manual alerts when critical threshold values are reached, as well as the installation of six sirens throughout the park and in nearby villages.
